P300 Evoked Potential in Patients with Mild Cognitive Impairment

Abstract: CONFLICT OF INTEREST: NONE DECLAREDAimThe aim of this study is to present differences of amplitude and latency of P300 wave between examinees with mild cognitive impairment and examinees from the control group.MethodsA cross-section study was performed between April 1st and July 10th 2012, with the diagnosis of mild cognitive impairment as the main criterion for inclusion. In the twenty-two examinees who participated in the research, mild cognitive impairment was confirmed by neuropsychological testing, follow… Show more

“…P300 has been widely used in researches about dementia, mental illnesses, cerebral vascular diseases, brain injury and drug dependence [20] [21]. Results of the current study showed that P300 IP shortened and amplitude increased largely indicating that early rehabilitation training could improve P300 potential, in accordance with a previous study [22]. It has been proved that early rehabilitation can promote the activity of conceal passage and dormant synapse, the function recombine of non-injury region and the function rebuilt of injury region.…”

“…Previous research reported that the P3 latency was stable and sensitive in cognitive evaluations of MCI patients and those with conversion from MCI to AD [23]. Indeed, a number of experimental studies also demonstrated prolonged P3 latency in the elderly with aMCI [21,72] and MCI [73][74][75] when performing the visual and auditory oddball tasks. Therefore, in support of these earlier findings, the prolonged P3 latency found in the current paper seems to be a neuropathological characteristic of MCI.…”

“…Существенными преимуществами методики является объективизация получаемых данных, а также возможность выявлять ранние когнитивные нарушения. В целом ряде как отечественных, так и зарубежных работ [6][7][8] показана эффективность исследования Р300 для оценки выраженности когнитивных расстройств, в то же время практически отсутствуют публикации, в которых с помощью методики ВП оценивалась бы эффективность проводимой терапии у пациентов с когнитивными расстройствами.…”
