P uniceibacterium sediminis sp. nov., from intertidal sediment

Abstract: The Gram-stain-negative, rod-shaped bacterial strain designated RU-1-R-18T was isolated from intertidal sediment on Sakhalin Island in Russia. Phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequences showed that strain RU-1-R-18 T was related to the genus Puniceibacterium and shared highest sequence similarities with the type strain Puniceibacterium antarcticum KACC 16875 T (97.9 %).
