P‐47: Improvement of Image Sticking for High Standard Automotive Application

Abstract: As the rapid growth of LCD market, higher level of image quality is required. Image sticking is a phenomenon that a faint outline of previously displayed image remains visible on the screen as the frame is refreshed and it is an unvarying problem as the birth of LCD display. Furthermore, it has been a critical issue for high standard automotive application. In essence, the image sticking arises from the residual electric field (DC) in liquid crystal which caused by the ordered arrangement of ionic charges or d… Show more

“…If negative ions gather above PI layer interface, Vcom shift will move in the positive direction. While the ion concentration is positive, Vcom shift will move in the negative direction [4]. The direction of movement for positive and negative ions depends on the direction of DC bias voltage.…”

“…According to our research, the general image sticking compensation technology for AM MLED is vacant. In LCD and OLED fields, image sticking problem has been researched widely [1][2][3][4][5]. Image sticking always arises to static regions in the displayed content, such as logo image on TV.…”
