Overhearing Protocol Design Exploiting Intercell Interference in Cooperative Green Networks

Abstract: The conventional two-way relaying (TWR) protocol requires that the transmitter (receiver) in one direction must be the receiver (transmitter) in the other direction, an limitation precluding the application of the TWR for sophisticated realworld wireless networks. In this paper, we study a more general multi-cell system consisting of a downlink (DL) traffic in one cell and an uplink (UL) traffic in an adjacent cell, with a multi-antenna relay located in the cell-edge and shared by both cells. For the coexisten… Show more

“…Although the occupation of uplink bandwidth was avoided, the recoveries of downlink CSI and UL-US were deteriorated by superposition interference. The interference cancellation has been a research hotspot in the field of wireless communications [25] [26]. To remedy the defect of [23], a DL-based superimposed CSI feedback was proposed in [24], which consistently improved the estimation of downlink CSI with similar or better UL-US detection performance.…”

“…To effectively suppress the pilot contamination, a time-shifted scheme was proposed in [20], which aims to resolve the effects of pilot contamination. The work in [21,22] proposed a pilot sequence coordination scheme; the pilot combinations are efficiently eliminated by sharing the different pilot sequence among each cells.…”

“…(22) In order to solve the above equation in terms of random variable K, we observe that the equation is so sophisticated because it involves the logarithmic function. We use the associated analysis tool [39][40][41] and let y = 1 + ρ (N t − K + 1), (22) reduces to…”

“…To handle the massive connectivity and satisfy the requirements of ultra-reliable low-latency communications, 5G network supporting IoT communications requires huge spectrum resources or the improvement of spectral efficiency [14]. Moreover, the interference management problem is one of the key challenges in 5G-enabled IoT, since the co-channel model that small cell base stations (SCBSs) overlayed on the covering area of macrocell base station (MBS) share the same frequency band is generally adopted in 5G network [15]. The resource allocation strategies are usually optimized to overcome the interference problem [16].…”
