“…Prior to fatty acid extraction the strains were cultured on trypticase soy agar (TSA) at 28 °C for 48 h. The cellular fatty acids of strain 27C T consisted of summed feature 3 (C 16 : 1 ω7 c , and/or C 16 : 1 ω6 c , 40.3 %), C 16 : 0 (37.4 %), summed feature 8 (C 18 : 1 ω7 c and/or C 18 : 1 ω6 c , 7.8 %), C 14 : 0 (5.8 %), C 10 : 0 3-OH (5.3 %) and C 16 : 0 2-OH (3.3 %) (). This fatty acid pattern is congruent with those given for the other Ottowia species in the literature [1–7].…”

“…Common characteristics of representatives of the genus are a quinone system with ubiquinone Q-8 as predominant respiratory quinone, a polar lipid profile with phosphatidylethanolamine, usually phosphatidylglycerol, diphosphatidylglycerol (or a lipid with corresponding chromatographic motility) and phosphatidylmonomethylethanolamine (or a lipid with corresponding chromatographic motility). In the fatty acid profile C 16 : 1 ω 7 c /C 16 : 1 ω 6 c , C 16 : 0 , C 18 : 1 ω7 c/C 18 : 1 ω 6 c , C 14 : 0 and C 10 : 0 3-OH are predominant [4, 5]. Here we describe a novel species of the genus Ottowia for which we propose the name Ottowia testudinis sp.…”

“…The DNA G+C content fall within the range from 59.0 to 68.5 mol% [10]. At the time of writing, the genus Ottowia comprises seven identified species with validly published names [9][10][11][12][13][14][15]. Samples were collected from various environments, including activated sludge, rice beverage, fish intestines and tofu residue.…”

“…It was not detected in any background technical controls. Ottowia is a genus of bacteria that has been isolated from industrial and municipal wastewater (9699), sikhye (100), tofu residue (101), and fish intestines (102); it has not been identified in investigations of the human uterus. Nevertheless, Ottowia is a member of the family Comamonadaceae, and Chen et al (23) and Winters et al (30) reported that Comamonadaceae was among the most relatively abundant bacterial taxa in the human endometrium.…”
