Othr-10. Collaborative Efforts for Hospital-Based Biobank Development and Optimization to Ensure Quality Pediatric Specimens for Translational Research

Abstract: In recent years, drastic improvements in sequencing technologies have led to a better understanding of the specific genetic drivers of cancer. However, one of the greatest barriers to these discoveries is access to primary patient tumor tissue, especially in cancers of the Central Nervous System (CNS). In many cases tissue from surgery is processed and stored in Formalin-Fixed Paraffin-Embedded (FFPE) blocks, which sets limitations on downstream applications.
