Osteopontin and Integrin αvβ3 Expression during the Implantation Window in IVF Patients with Elevated Serum Progesterone and Oestradiol Level

Abstract: !Background: To explore whether endometrial receptivity is determined by osteopontin (OPN) and integrin αvβ3 expression in women with elevated serum progesterone (P) and/or oestradiol (E 2 ) who are undergoing in vitro fertilisation (IVF). Methods: According to serum hormone levels on the day of HCG administration, 33 infertile women were divided into 3 groups: the high E 2 , high P, and high E 2 and P groups. The control group included 11 fertile, healthy women. Endometrial biopsy was performed on ovulation d… Show more

“…The result of endometrial receptivity is embryo implantation, in return, embryo implantation rate reflects endometrial receptivity. Many studies and efforts have been made to improve endometrial receptivity but there is little consensus ( 21 , 22 ). However, it has been reported that CPR and IR increase when patients are given a period of artificial amenorrhea caused by GnRH-a ( 23 , 24 ).…”

“…Patients diagnosed with 17-OHD often suffer from infertility or related issues, due to the abnormal steroidogenic cascades cause impaired AND, 17-OHP and E 2 production together with progesterone and 11-deoxycorticosterone accumulation (19). The estradiol de ciencies and excessively high progesterone levels in these women results in abnormal endometrial maturation and follicular development (20,21). Weakened negative feedback of estrogen to the pituitary gland may lead to slightly elevated FSH and LH levels, predisposing patients to ovarian cysts, most of which are multiple luteinizing ovarian cysts, which may be caused by elevated serum progesterone or gonadotropins.…”

“…In the stimulation cycle, cell adhesion molecules (CAMs) and Wnt signaling pathways showed significant differences. Many members of the CAM family were previously shown to be associated with endometrial receptivity [16,17,[36][37][38]. The Wnt signaling pathway was also found to play an important role in embryo implantation [39].…”
