The Middle Ordovician (Darriwilian) echinoderm fauna of Bang Mueang Song Tho, western Thailand (Pha Phum group, Bo Ngam Formation(?)), includes rare thecae, and common thecal ossicles and columnals, and is dominated by ‘cystoids’. Cheirocrinid glyptocystitoids includeCheirocystellasp. (=Echinoencrinitessp. aff.E. senckenbergii(von Meyer)sensuWolfart), ‘Cheirocrinus’ sp. and Cheirocrinidaeincertae sedis. Hemicosmitoids are composed ofParacaryocrinites kochi(Wolfart), ‘Paracaryocrinites’ sp. andPolycosmitessp. cf.P. kaekeliWolfart. The aristocystitidSinocystissp. cf.S. loczyiReed is the only diploporite. Columnals ofBystrowicrinus(col.) sp. are probably crinoidal. The fullest determination of the echinoderm biodiversity of this site has been obtained using all specimens from single ossicles to articulated thecae. The limited taphonomic data suggests that the echinoderm assemblage is parauthochthonous. Other echinoderms described from coeval deposits in this region includeStichocystis thailandicaWolfart;Heliocrinitessp. aff.H. qualusBather (probably aLophotocystisPaul);Gomphocystites? sp. indet. The Middle and Upper Ordovician sequence of the Langkawi Islands, northwestern peninsular Malaysia, contains 20 species of conodonts belonging to 15 genera and four unidentified species, which are described and illustrated. The following four biostratigraphic zones are established for the study area: the Scolopodus striatus assemblage zone, the Periodon sp. A range zone, the Baltoniodus alobatus range zone, and the Hamarodus europaeus range zone, in ascending order. The Middle Ordovician fauna belongs to the low-latitude, warm-water Australian Province. Conodonts of the H. europaeus zone represent the HDS (Hamarodus europaeus-Dapsilodus mutatus-Scabbardella altipes) biofacies, which has been reported from the cool-water North Atlantic Faunal Region. The middle Arenigian limestones in the study area were deposited on a shallow-water shelf, whereas the late Arenigian to middle Darriwilian limestones formed in hemipelagic deeper-water conditions on an outer shelf or slope.

Early Ordovician conodont faunas of the Thung Song Formation on Tarutao Island, southern peninsular Thailand, consist of 14 known species belonging to 17 genera, and eight undescribed species. Utahconus tarutaoensis and Filodontus tenuis are new species. Three conodont zones: the Rossodus manitouensis Zone, the Utahconus tarutaoensis Zone and the Filodontus tenuis Zone, in ascending order, are defined in the study sections. These are coeval with the interval from the Rossodus manitouensis Zone to the Acodus deltatus-Oneotodus costatus Zone of the standard zonation in the North American Midcontinent. Based on the conodonts studied here and fossils previously reported from Tarutao Island, the Thung Song Formation is early Tremadocian to middle Arenig (Ibexian) in age. This formation is lithostratigraphically subdivided into the S1 to S5 members, and our study sections consist of the S1 to S3 members. These strata accumulated on a shelf in the Early Ordovician. The depositional environments of the limestones making up the S1 and S3 members were in deeper-shelf conditions. Limestone and shale of the S2 member formed in a shallow-water, highenergy environment.
