Optoelectronic Characterization of Chemical Bath Deposited CdxCo1-xS Thin Film

Abstract: Cadmium Cobalt Sulphide (Cd x Co 1−x S) thin film was deposited on microscopic glass substrate using chemical bath deposition technique at room temperature from aqueous solutions of Cadmium Chloride, Cobalt Chloride and Thiourea in which ammonium solution was used as complexing agents. The optical properties were characterized using the absorbance and transmission measurement from Unico UV-2102 PC spectrophotometer, at normal incidence of light in the wavelength range of 200-1000 nm. We report the deposition a… Show more

“…The following ternary derivatives have been successfully deposited in thin films by several researchers: Cd 1-x Zn x S [12], and Cd 1-x Cu x S [13]. The addition of Co to CdS improves open-circuit current in heterojunction devices such as solar cells in general due to a reduction in window absorption losses [14,15]. The CoCdS materials have given the favored elements in solar energy, can be used in optical window applications, and reflect coating thin films [16][17][18][19][20].…”
