This study investigates the social representation of Blockchain from the perspective of professionals in Brazil, herein considered as a proxy for emerging markets, and then compares the results found with the existing academic literature on the concept of Blockchain. To do that, the social representation theory was applied, operationalized through the words evocation technique. Security, bitcoin and decentralization were the categories located in the central nucleus of the social representation of Blockchain, while innovation, data, network, cryptocurrency, and technology were the categories located in the peripheral system. Based on the results obtained, there was a perceived strong association of Blockchain with bitcoin, one of its applications, and a dissonance between the existing academic literature and the perception of Brazilian professionals about the concept of Blockchain, as the latter is a privilege of the technical and operational issues of Blockchain to the detriment of its strategic potential. This dissonance can cause Blockchain initiatives to have results below expectations. Finally, Brazilian professionals did not realize the potential for inclusion of Blockchain in an emerging market such as Brazil and did not notice the need and relevance of a specific legal governance for Blockchain, an issue also forgotten by academia.

Novel and Secure Blockchain Framework for Health Applications in IoT

Internet of Things (IoT) has grown increasingly in the past decade. This growth brings up several challenging issues for a successful continuous operation of IoT applications. Some of these challenges that need to be taken care of are resource constraints, central server overload, and the risk of illegal use of private data. On the other side, Blockchain technology is increasingly popular and has gained huge success in cryptocurrencies. It offers numerous vital qualities such as a technique for consensus, peer communications, confidence-building without a trustworthy third party, and a transaction controlled by conditions and functions using the intelligent contract technique. Blockchain is an excellent candidate to establish a decentralized, autonomous IoT system addressing the above issues. This study proposes an IoT-Blockchain integration architecture using an Ethereum Blockchain infrastructure within a rich-thin client IoT approach to address the challenges created by the limited IoT resources while implementing the Blockchain mining technique in IoT systems. The architecture depends on load distribution between the resources. Limited resource devices are the thin-clients, while the higher resource devices are assigned as rich-clients. Both clients can access the blockchain and collect the data, but rich-client only can execute the mining process. In addition, we implement a healthcare system based on our architecture in which surgical process management is carried out. We also prove our solution's efficiency by testing and comparing the architecture with typical IoT-based blockchain architectures. We conclude that our blockchain-IoT architecture is suited for many IoT applications while avoiding difficulties created by IoT device limitations.

ABSTRAK Transformasi digital adalah salah satu topik favorit saat ini. Topik ini mempengaruhi lingkungan ekonomi serta bisnis dan negara. Studi ini mengeksplorasi multidimensi konstruk TOE Framework, pengembangan dan penerapan teori RBVsehingga inovasi difusi diaplikasikan pada ebusiness dan ecommerce. Peran sentral dari transfornasi digital yang menjembatani konseptual model ini yang akan membuat UMKM dapat Sustainable Advantage untuk menghadapai industry 4.0 dan situasi pandemic era. Studi literature dengan membangun dan mengembangkan konsep. Tahap pertama dalam pemilihan literatur dilakukan dengan mencari makalah, jurnal, dan artikel berdasarkan kesesuaian kata kunci dengan judul atau abstrak yang telah ditentukan. Tahap kedua dilanjutkan dengan menghilangkan literatur yang tidak memenuhi kriteria inklusi dan kriteria eksklusi berdasarkan relevansi abstrak. Langkah ketiga adalah mengevaluasi karya sastra dengan membacanya secara utuh dan menilai kualitas karya sastra tersebut. Langkah terakhir adalah memilih literatur yang telah melewati tahap evaluasi dan penilaian kualitas. makalah ini membangun sebuah model dalam upaya untuk menutup kesenjangan pengetahuan yang ditemukan dalam penelitian sebelumnya. Dari tinjauan literatur, teori yang berkaitan dengan inovasi dan difusi E-bisnis, juga penciptaan nilai diperiksa untuk mengidentifikasi kesenjangan pengetahuan dalam pengukuran kinerja bisnis sebelumnya. Model multidimensi kemudian dikembangkan dengan inovasi tiga teori dan model, yaitu model TOE framework, transformasi digital, teori RBV dan keunggulan kompetitif yang berkelanjutan.
