Optimal position of piezoelectric actuators for active vibration reduction of beams

Abstract: This paper investigates the optimal placement of piezoelectric actuators for the active vibration attenuation of beams. The governing equation of the beam is achieved by coupled first order shear deformation theory with two node element. The velocity feedback controller is designed and used to calculate the feedback gain and then apply to the beam. In order to search for the optimal placement of the piezoelectric actuators, a new optimization criterion is considered based on the use of genetic algorithm to red… Show more

“…Ecosystem-related theories originated from natural sciences and have been developed to date, combined with sociological theories, and better applied in regional or cluster development, paying more attention to the intricate relationships within or between enterprises [12]. Similarly, universities should use the ecosystem theory to develop the relationships between departments within the University and various interests outside the University and establish a unique university entrepreneurship education ecosystem [13].…”

“…In the future, one can exploit/explore the knacks of ANNs-PSO-IPM to solve the singular higher order models (Sabir et al 2020c, d;2021a), fractional order models (I ˙lhan and Kıymaz 2020; Sabir et al 2022b;Sulaiman et al 2019;Touchent et al 2020;Yokus ¸and Gu ¨lbahar 2019;Ziane et al 2019) and many other applications of utmost importance (Kouider and Polat 2020;Xie et al 2020;Xue et al 2021;Yao 2021).…”

“…x k+1 id = x k id + v k+1 id (10) where v k+1 id is the velocity of each particle in the next iteration, v k id is its current velocity, p k id is the personal best particle, and p k gd is the global best particle. Furthermore, x k+1 id represents the new location of the particle, ω represents the inertial weight, which is the effect of the current velocity on the next iteration, and c 1 and c 2 are study factors that represent the information exchange between each particle in the whole population; r 1 and r 2 are acceleration coefficients, which are random numbers that are uniformly distributed in the range of [0,1] and are used to increase the randomness of particle movement.…”

“…For example, there are five parameters to be determined in the algorithm of ZVD shaping, and they are coupled with each other. The best way to find the parameters of ZVD shaping is to build the model of crane system [10,11]. But as an under-actuated system, the dynamics are highly nonlinear and complex [12].…”
