Optical materials based on molecular nano/microcrystals and ultrathin films

Abstract: Methodologies that we developed recently for the fabrication of molecular crystals with size variation in the nano to micro regime and polyelectrolyte templated mono and multilayer Langmuir-Blodgett films, are reviewed. The electronic absorption and strong fluorescence in the molecular nano/microcrystals are found to be size-dependent. Crystal structure and computational investigations provide a unified model to explain these observations. Role of polyelectrolyte templating in achieving stable and enhanced opt… Show more

“…It also has the characteristics of high power and broad spectrum. SLD is required in many applications, such as fiber-optic gyroscope (FOG) [1,2] , optical time-domain reflectometer (OTDR) [3] , optical coherence tomography (OCT) [4][5][6] , tunable external cavity laser (T-ECL) [7][8][9][10][11] , etc. The light output of the ultra -radiated light pipe is a magnifying spontaneous launch: it uses spontaneous launch photons to achieve high output power in the gain medium.…”
