Abstract: Objectives:Atrial fibrillation has been associated with obesity in epidemiological studies. Epicardial adipose tissue is an ectopic fat depot in the proximity of atria, with endocrine and inflammatory properties that is implicated in the pathophysiology of atrial fibrillation.
