Abstract-The University of Vigo, Spain has the objective of making all the teaching material generated by its teachers freely available. To attain this objective, it encourages the development of Open Educational Resources, especially videos. This paper presents an experience of recording lectures and generating the corresponding videos as a step towards this objective. The core system used to record lectures is Opencast Matterhorn (free and open-source customizable software to support the management of educational audio and video content). This paper also focuses on the study and analysis of the students' experience of using recorded videos as support for their learning process. This case study was carried out in the Fall 2012 offering of the first-year Computer Architecture course in University of Vigo's Telecommunication Technologies Engineering program. Finally, the paper addresses students' level of satisfaction with the recorded lectures, and gives students' opinions on the use of these videos.

Due to different data models, MOOCs are often monolithic and closed creations, which complicates the task of exchanging, reusing, and retrieving learning materials of different MOOCs. In this paper, we advocate that MOOCs should also be LOOCs (Linked Open Online Courses) to enable interoperability and interlinking data. We present a MOOC application and how it becomes a LOOC by making use of Semantic Web technologies.

Videolectures are currently being digitised all over the world for its enormous value as reference resource. Many of these lectures are accompanied with slides. The slides offer a great opportunity for improving ASR systems performance. We propose a simple yet powerful extension to the linear interpolation of language models for adapting language models with slide information. Two types of slides are considered, correct slides, and slides automatic extracted from the videos with OCR. Furthermore, we compare both time aligned and unaligned slides. Results report an improvement of up to 3.8 % absolute WER points when using correct slides. Surprisingly, when using automatic slides obtained with poor OCR quality, the ASR system still improves up to 2.2 absolute WER points.
