Open charm hadron spectroscopy at B-factories

Abstract: Open charm hadrons are excellent probes to study the dynamics of quarks and gluons inside hadrons. Because the mass of a charm quark is heavier than Λ QCD , so called heavy quark symmetry emerges in the hadron containing a charm quark and plays a central role in the classification and constraining the interactions. Belle and BaBar, which are B-factory experiments, have made significant advances in the field of open charm hadron spectroscopy in these 15 years. In this article, experimental advances on both open… Show more

“…They provide an excellent laboratory to test various theoretical models, in which the three constituent quarks are effectively described in terms of a heavy quark plus a light diquark system [1,2]. The ground and excited states of Ξ c baryons have been observed during the last few decades [3]. At present there is no experimental determination of their spins or parities.…”

“…Similar to the Λ c (2940) + , the Σ c (2800) is located just below the DN threshold and was proposed as a candidate of the DN molecule [90,91,92,93,94]. More discussions are referred to reviews [95,96,97,7,98,99,17]. In the past several years, many excited heavy baryons including some P-wave states have been observed by LHCb Collaboration.…”

“…Charmed baryon family has special place in whole hadron spectroscopy. Focusing on the charmed baryon, theorist and experimentalist have paid a lot of effort to reveal their nature, which has close relation to construct charmed baryon family and find out exotic state (see review articles [1][2][3][4][5] for the progress). In the past few years, charmed baryon family has become more and more abundant with the observation of more excited states of charmed baryon, which can be reflected by the present status of charmed baryons listed in Particle Data Group (PDG) [6].…”
