OntoSuSD: Software engineering approaches integration ontology for sustainable software development

Abstract: Different software development approaches (SDAs) are developed with broad portfolios of development processes. Each of the approaches has certain exclusive principles, practices, thinking, and values, which are informally represented, implemented, and improperly institutionalized. Ontologies are developed for the representation, assessment, and adaptation of SDAs separately without having a shared terminology which may lead to terminological conflict and confusion affecting the simultaneous representation and … Show more

“…One can now find ontology‐based applications in diverse areas, including customer support and car engineering 40 . For instance, researchers in Reference 41 designed and developed an integrated ontology of software engineering approaches to support sustainable software development knowledge, awareness, and implementation. Furthermore, in Reference 42, authors conducted an analysis that explained a detailed approach to building an ontology that can be used across different e‐learning platforms.…”

“…In our previous research work, we have presented the integration and organization of Agile, Lean and Green values, principles, practices, activities, applications, etc. into a semantic ontological model called OntoSuSD ontology [21]. The OntoSuSD [21] provides a complete set of information in terms of concepts and relationships signifying that how Agile, Lean and Green approaches can contribute to achieve sustainable software development goals.…”

“…into a semantic ontological model called OntoSuSD ontology [21]. The OntoSuSD [21] provides a complete set of information in terms of concepts and relationships signifying that how Agile, Lean and Green approaches can contribute to achieve sustainable software development goals. However, a framework is also needed to simultaneously integrate Lean, Agile and Green approaches defined and adopted from the ontological description to support sustainable software development.…”
