Annual pollen deposition in the Pre-Delta National Park (Entre Ríos, Argentina). This work aims to analyze the seasonal pattern and the diversity of the Pre-Delta National Park vegetation (Entre Ríos, Argentina) as reflected by the deposited pollen along a year. Pollen has been monitored monthly with Tauber traps over one year (since August 2004 to July 2005. The pollen traps were placed in two sub environments within the park: 1) in a tallgrass prairie (P), and 2) in a shrubland next to a forest (A). The high diversity was determined by 83 pollen types (72 in P and 65 in A), but only 3 in P and 5 in A reached more than 5% of the pollen total. Asteraceae Asteroideae (non Ambrosia, non Artemisia), Poaceae and Salix were the most abundant, being related to the Tessaria and Salix forests, and to the prairies of Panicum. In A, the Prosopis pollen (typical taxon of the Espinal vegetation) was also important, as well as the Solanum glaucophyllum pollen type (taxon of the wetland). The deposited annual pollen value was 15186 pollen/cm 2 in P and 11552 pollen/cm 2 in A. A noticeable seasonal difference was observed between P (the maximum in January and February) and A (maximum in October) due to the flowering of dominant taxa: Poaceae and Asteraceae Asteroideae, respectively. The minimum was registered in July in both sites. In conclusion the plant diversity of the park is represented in both sites, but the seasonal flowering period differs according to the main vegetation sources.Key words: modern pollen deposition, wetland, Argentina. ____________El conocimiento de los tipos polínicos presentes en la atmósfera de una región y de su abundancia, se corresponde con una medida de la diversidad y composición, no sólo de la vegetación local, sino también del aporte de la flora regional. Esto último es importante al analizar un ambiente protegido como son los Parques Nacionales, cuyo objetivo primordial es el de preservar un ambiente dado. En particular, el Parque Nacional Pre-Delta donde se desarrolla este trabajo, forma parte de uno de los humedales fluviales más importantes de América del Sur (Peteán & Cappato, 2005). Los humedales son los ecosistemas más productivos del planeta y requieren de un especial tratamiento de conservación y uso racional, ya que mitigan las inundaciones y sequías, mantienen una altísima diversidad, controlan la erosión y proveen transporte y recursos alimenticios a numerosas comunidades.El estudio de los granos de polen que se dispersan en el aire de un área natural, requiere de una metodología que permita un muestreo continuo y que asegure la evaluación tanto del polen proveniente de la vegetación propia del sitio de interés como del polen foráneo (Fontana, 2003). IntroduccIónLas observaciones aeropalinológicas en áreas urbanas son de gran interés para los estudios de sanidad ambiental, debido a que el polen es responsable de enfermedades respiratorias y reacciones alérgicas (polinosis). En este contexto, resulta importante conocer la composición del espectro polínico atmosférico de una ciudad, debido a que el mismo está en función de la diversidad y distribución de la vegetación circundante del área (nitiu, 2009) y cada núcleo urbano presenta una característica ambiental que varía a lo largo del año e influye, de modo diferencial, en los ritmos de emisión de la vegetación y modos de dispersión polínica (Latorre & Bianchi, 1997, Jato rodríguez et al., 1999, condicionando la presencia y permanencia del polen en la atmósfe-ra. En este sentido, la elaboración de calendarios polínicos brinda información relevante sobre la Rev. Mus. Argentino Cienc. Nat., n.s. 15(2): 175-182, 2013 ISSN 1514 Resumen: Se estudió el contenido polínico atmosférico durante la estación primaveral de 2007 en la ciudad de San Salvador de Jujuy con el objetivo de elaborar un registro de la composición cualitativa, describir la variación porcentual semanal de polen captado y evaluar la representatividad de la flora nativa y presencia de polen alergógeno. El monitoreo se llevó a cabo con un captador gravimétrico tipo durham, con frecuencia semanal de recambio de las muestras. Se identificaron 36 tipos polínicos de los cuales 17 pertenecen a la vegetación exótica, 14 a la vegetación nativa de Yungas y 5 de origen indefinido. El reporte muestra que, durante todo el periodo muestreado, la composición polínica atmosférica está influenciada tanto por la vegetación urbana, como por el aporte significativo de vegetación arbórea procedente del bosque nativo de Yungas, representados por Alnus acuminata, Juglans australis, Celtis sp., Anadenanthera colubrina, entre otros, mientras que para fines de la estación, predomina el polen herbáceo de Amaranthaceae-chenopodiaceae y urticaceae. del total de tipos polínicos registrados, se identifican 16 con reconocido potencial alergógeno, pertenecientes a especies exóticas presentes en el arbolado urbano, como Morus sp., Cupressus sp., Populus sp., Platanus acerifolia, entre otros, y Celtis sp. de la flora nativa. This study concerns the flowering of the olive (Olea europaea) in a large southern Italian area. It was carried out using the "volumetric" method of pollen sampling and the analysis of the meteorological parameters of temperature and rainfall. The results show that flowering occurs mainly in May, with the maximum values in the second half of the month. Meteorological analysis showed that the biological cycle of the olive was greatly influenced by the temperature. The relationship between an increase of temperature before the beginning of flowering and the advance of flowering was 2.5 days/°C. Another important result concerns the value of the mean temperature which by the beginning of flowering was 16°C at all monitoring stations, even if the growing degree day (GDD) requirements were different. The temperature accumulation evidenced the homogeneity of plant behaviour in dependence of latitude, except for the province of Taranto. Also, our study showed that rainfall determined a considerable decline of pollen concentration in the atmosphere, until the maximum of 80% when the value of 8 mm of rainfall/day was reached.
