Oncocercose: primeiro caso autóctone da Região Centro-Oeste do Brasil

Abstract: Os autores descrevem o primeiro caso autóctone de oncocercose ocorrido na Região Centro-Oeste do Brasil. Baseados em dados epidemiológicos, suspeitam que a infecção tenha sido adquirida no município de Minaçu, Goiás, onde foram detectados garimpeiros provindos da serra dos Surucucus, no Território Federal de Roraima, um dos primeiros focos dessa Jilariose descritos no Brasil.
