“…Case studies complement it for samples paired with quasi-experimental methods to determine whether alternative hypotheses of gender inequality in the way of value, as an assessment of academic performance, are acceptable between the two orientations of the taught subject (Arias et al, 2021;Townsend et al, 2019). The results showed that in the experimental group, higher motivation and studying higher scores, compared to the control group, found no statistically significant gender differences in academic performance (Soares et al, 2021).…”

“…Cordier et al developed one worldwide socio-economic model to forecast the influence of lack of education plastic pollution by using the data of the World Bank and pointed out that the amount of inadequately managed plastic waste will decrease by 34% compared to the business-as-usual scenario (Cordier et al, 2021). Soares et al presented a study on the perceived importance of education and knowledge dissemination strategies on the mitigation of plastic pollution (Soares et al, 2021). This article is one of the few studies currently focusing on the pathway to minimize plastic pollution through environmental education.…”

“…This article is one of the few studies currently focusing on the pathway to minimize plastic pollution through environmental education. Additionally, the authors firstly pointed out environmental education should be included in the first 9 years of education (Soares et al, 2021). Undoubtedly, the contribution of these researches provides a permanent solution at low cost to plastic pollution from the perspective of environmental awareness and actual pro-environmental behavior.…”

“…Indeed, there exist just a handful of research papers about plastics education, some of which focus on adults rather than children, and which tend to hone in on the relationship between knowledges about plastics and (very specific) behaviours (Kovács et al, 2020; Rudman and Rudman, 2021). Moreover, most papers focus on the capacity of different plastics education programmes, in schools, to disseminate knowledge about plastics pollution in a rather didactic sense (Schiffer et al, 2019; Soares et al, 2021). Nonetheless, and in line with recent systematic reviews of environmental education (Roussell and Cutter-Mackenzie-Knowles, 2020), isolated papers identify programmes that extend to more inclusive, participatory, inquiry-based forms of plastics education (Dalu et al, 2020; Mironenko and Mironenko, 2020).…”
