On the narrow dip structure at 1.9 GeV/c2 in diffractive photoproduction

Abstract: A mistake in the computer program performing the power law fit of the numerical computation of the hadron attenuation ratio R M has been detected. The mistake affects all fits which include the Xe nucleus. Below we present corrected results for table 2 and Figs. 8-10.Based on the corrected calculation we revise our conclusion in ref. [1]. The A 2/3 power law for 1 − R M in the absorption model remains also after including the Xe nucleus in the (c,α) fit.

“…Naturally, this very proximity of theN N threshold suggests that theN N channel should have something to do with the appearance of that structure in the multipion production cross sections. A common speculation is that it could be a signal for app bound state [4,7] or a subtresholdpp resonance [5]. Such a conjecture seems to be also in line with experimental findings in a related reaction, namely e + e − →pp, where a near-threshold enhancement seen in the cross section [8,9] is likewise associated with a possiblepp bound state, cf.…”

“…Phenomenological fits to the e + e − data locate the structure at 1.91 GeV [7] or at 1.86-1.88 GeV [2] while thepp threshold is at 1.8765 GeV. “…Parenting style chosen must be most appropriate for their children, in accordance with the dual responsibilities or roles that she is juggling with. As the study by Bornstein and Zlotnik (2008) explains that socioeconomic status, parental education level, and mother's employment status can affect the parenting. A working mother might have feelings of guilt as they may not be able to guide and give attention to their children full time.…”

“…Although the detailed mechanism of its appearance remains unsettled, the very recent analysis [28] sees it as a result of interplay of several resonances with J P C = 1 −− (including ρ(1700)) and a background. This analysis was explicitly based on the vector dominance idea and explicitly uses the assumption that the 6π spectra in e + e − annihilation and in diffractive photoproduction are essentially the same (apart from kinematical factors).…”
