In this article the goal was the examination of the factorial structure of a short, Hungarian version of Zimbardo Time Perspective Inventory (ZTPI; Zimbardo and Boyd Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, 77 (6), [1271][1272][1273][1274][1275][1276][1277][1278][1279][1280][1281][1282][1283][1284][1285][1286][1287][1288] 1999) in a sample of 1370 participants, comparing alternative factor structures through confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). According to the results the short, 17 item version of ZTPI includes the original five factors and has appropriate model fit indices. Furthermore, it is reliable in terms of internal consistency and temporal stability. In the light of previous ZTPI validations with severe shortcomings, the present results might encourage radical shortening of the original ZTPI scale.

ResumoA autonomia é uma habilidade relacional que se desenvolve durante toda a vida. Mas é na adolescência que essa capacidade é vista como uma tarefa desenvolvimental e socialmente esperada para a transição para vida adulta. Estudos demonstram que a autonomia adolescente é infl uenciada por variáveis individuais, contextuais e familiares. Mas como essas variáveis diferenciam maiores e menores níveis de autonomia em jovens? Assim, o objetivo desse estudo foi o de construiu um perfi l discriminante para compreender Altos e Baixos níveis de autonomia em 375 adolescentes gaúchos. Foram incluídas variá-veis contextuais, valores parentais, estilos educativos e a legitimidade da autoridade parental. A amostra era composta, em sua maioria, de meninas (66%), alunas de escolas públicas (51%), de 14 a 18 anos, moradoras da região metropolitana de Porto Alegre (78%), vindas de famílias intactas (73%). Obteve--se uma função discriminante entre altos e baixos níveis de autonomia, agrupando signifi cativamente a idade, variáveis indicadoras de um bom relacionamento parental, o valor "autonomia" e o self relacional na família a favor do grupo de maior autonomia. Maior obediência e o valor "família" foram agrupados em favor do grupo de menor autonomia. Os resultados corroboram a multifl uência desse construto e a relevância do relacionamento parental para seu desenvolvimento.
