On effect of superplasticizers and mineral additives on shrinkage of hardened cement paste and concrete

Abstract: A model describing the variation in autogenous shrinkage and drying shrinkage of portland cement concrete, depending on the volume of aggregates and the shrinkage of hardened cement paste, is presented. The equation to calculate shrinkage of concrete as a function of the volume of aggregates and shrinkage of a hardened cement paste was proposed. Formulas are proposed that describe the change in the shrinkage of hardened cement paste as a function of water/cement. The results of studies of the effect of superpl… Show more

“…However, it should be noted that the content of alkali metal oxide K2O in the aspiration dust sample is 6.43%, whereas in the clinker, it decreases to 1.57% (Table 2). This can be attributed to the fact that clinker dust was formed in the hot zone of solid-phase synthesis in the rotary kiln at 1300 °C and higher temperatures, where alkali metal oxides are burnt out and decomposed [5][6][7][8].…”

“…It has been established that the mineral components added to the composition of both the binder and the concrete, after preliminary mechanical activation, to a certain degree of dispersion, allow significantly reducing the consumption of Portland cement increase the design class of concrete and produce products with certain properties of lower cost. In addition, there is a positive effect on the degree of hydration of clinker minerals and the formation of an improved concrete microstructure [1,5,[6][7][8][9][10][11][12][13].…”

“…Concrete is one of the oldest materials, but its potential and possibilities seem inexhaustible (Murtazaev et al 2016;Nesvetaev et al 2018;Stelmakh et al 2018), since at all times of its existence and in the future this material will occupy a leading place among a huge variety of building compositions.…”
