In the present study, we report the design and eco‐benign synthesis of new class of carbazolyl‐1,4‐dihydropyridine (1,4‐CDHP) and carbazolyl‐1,8‐dioxodecahydroacridine (CAD) derivatives via a three‐component coupling reaction of substituted carbazole aldehydes, ethyl acetoacetate/dimedone, and ammonium acetate under solvent‐free conditions at 112°C to 115°C. We also report an efficient one‐pot synthesis of new class of carbazolyl polyhydroquinoline (CPQ) derivatives via a four‐component coupling reaction of substituted ethyl acetoacetate, dimedone, ammonium acetate, and carbazole aldehydes in acetonitrile/water medium (3:1) at 73°C to 75°C in moderate yields. All the products were thoroughly characterized by 1H NMR, 13C NMR, Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), mass spectral, and CHN analysis. The synthesized heterocyclic compounds were evaluated for their in vitro antibacterial activity against pathogenic strains of both Gram‐negative and Gram‐positive bacteria. Minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of the active compounds was evaluated by macrodilution method. The CPQ derivative (8a) displayed superior antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Salmonella typhi with the MIC values of 16.0 to 32.0 μg/mL in comparison with the reference drug. The mechanism of antibacterial action of the CPQ derivatives was investigated via scanning electron microscope (SEM) studies. The molecular docking studies indicate that the CPQ derivative (8a) binds to the cell wall protein of E coli and P aeruginosa by formation of hydrogen bonds with amino acid residues (TYR328 and GLU249) of the bacterial cell wall protein. The 1,4‐CDHP, CAD, and CPQ derivatives were either noncytotoxic or exhibited minimal cytotoxicity towards human mononuclear cells from peripheral blood. All the products were evaluated for Lipinski rule of five (RO5) and were found to have good oral bioavailability.

Diorganotin(IV) derivatives have been synthesized by the reaction of R2SnL2 (R=n‐Bu 1, Ph 2) with monohydrate disodium salt of iminodiacetic acid (Na2L) in 1 : 1 M/L ratio under reflux conditions. The compounds have been characterized by FT‐IR, NMR (1H and 13C) spectoscopy, electron ionization mass spectrometry (EIMS), thermogravimetric analyses (TGA) and single crystal XRD. FTIR data indicates a mono‐dentate binding mode of the carboxylic acid group as well as participation of the amino nitrogen and aqua oxygen in coordination with organotin(IV) moieties. NMR data demonstrates a tetra‐coordinated environment around tin(IV) in solution. Mass spectrometric and thermogravimetric analyses verify the close similarities between the molecular structures of both complexes. The thermal stability of diphenyltin(IV) derivative (2) was found slightly higher than that of the free ligand (Na2L). Single crystal X‐ray analysis of the complex 1 have shown a hexa‐coordinated geometry around Sn(IV) with trans configuration. There are evidences for the existence of intermolecular hydrogen bonding in the structure of the complexes. The products displayed significant antibacterial and antifungal activities in contrast to the biologically inactive ligand precursor. However, the hemolytic cytoxicity of the complexes was comparatively high than the free ligand.

In the present paper, Durrmeyer type λ -Bernstein operators via ( p , q )-calculus are constructed, the first and second moments and central moments of these operators are estimated, a Korovkin type approximation theorem is established, and the estimates on the rate of convergence by using the modulus of continuity of second order and Steklov mean are studied, a convergence theorem for the Lipschitz continuous functions is also obtained. Finally, some numerical examples are given to show that these operators we defined converge faster in some λ cases than Durrmeyer type ( p , q )-Bernstein operators.
