The progress of the times has an impact on the behavior of memory decline regarding culture and profane values so that it has an impact on the ambiguity of the future of culture itself in this case is the tradition of the Okokan performance. This study aims to explore the role of power (legitimacy) of Puri Agung Kerambitan Tabanan on the Okokan Tradition to the cultural degradation that occurred. The method used in this study is a qualitative research method using two types of data sources, namely primary and secondary as well as data collection in the form of observations, interviews and literature studies (literature). Talcot Parson on Structural Functionalism was used in honing this research. Based on the data in the field, it was found that the role of the legitimacy or power of Puri Agung Kerambitan Tabanan was to first form a new group of the young generation of okokan art to be included in every event / activity of the castle. Second, support and take an active role in okokan performing arts groups. This role that has been carried out still requires an understanding strategy to be disseminated to meet the needs disposition. In line with Talcott Parson’s thinking that the disposition of needs can be achieved through a physical system (environment) and a personality system that can be done through socialization in the form of disseminating information through digital media and social control through awig-awig published by stakeholders, both Heritage Village and Puri Agung Kerambitan.

Srandul is a traditional art form in Kampung Bumen, Kotagede, Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The Purba Budaya group is preserving this art because its activities hold symbolic meanings associated with the noble values for the residents of Kampung Bumen. The objective of this research is to describe the symbolic meanings of noble values in the Srandul art produced by Purba Budaya in Bumen Village, Kotagede. The study is based on a single case study. It employs informants, literature studies, documents and archives, and visual data as data sources, and interviews, observations, and documentation as data collection techniques. The informants were purposefully selected based on their gender, age and level of education. Data was analysed using interactive model analysis, which included three main elements: data reduction, data display, and deriving conclusions and verification. Data triangulation was used to ensure data validity. The paper concludes that noble values in Srandul include: the nature of life, the nature of work and work ethic, the relationships between people and Nature, perception of time, and the relationship between people and others. These values are symbolized by the offerings, story content (play), the rehearsal process, puring leaves in the middle of the Srandul performance arena, joke scenes (dagelan) in the middle of the Srandul story, and various combinations of clothes worn in Srandul art.

Nowadays, the aesthetic value of Okokan performing art has shifted from the sign values replaced by exchange values. This shift is called as a phenomenon of transformation or change that occurs in the Okokan performing art. This study aims to examine the transformation that occurs in the Okokan Traditional Performing Art in Kediri, Tabanan, Bali. Qualitative method is used in solving the problems by taking data through observation, interview, verbal and visual documentation. Based on the findings, the process of the cultural identity transformation of the Okokan performing art includes the transformation of ritual values into profane values. In 1960, the Okokan tradition was carried out only when residents of Kediri had disease outbreak. Year after year, the function of Okokan performing art is shifted to commercialization. Beside of the function, there are changes in the music accompaniment. The existence of popular culture has led the Okokan Tradition being played with modifications of modern musical instruments and dances. The shift also occurs in the use of attributes and dance movements that have followed the current concept.
