As teacher educators prepare for the future of teacher education, it is important to address the sustainability of virtual education courses. This study used a pre-existing model provided by the New York State Education Department as a framework to define the types of courses that may appear in an education program. Data was collected using a convergent parallel mixed methods approach to simultaneously gather qualitative and quantitative data. A total of 640 education courses from accredited education programs across the United States were analyzed. Findings indicated the type of course did not play a role in the course effectiveness during the pandemic, suggesting all education courses can be delivered effectively in a virtual modality. The delivery method of undergraduate courses was indicated by participants to be less effective during the pandemic than graduate courses. Results suggest courses that involve fieldwork (i.e., Field Experience, Student Teaching, or Practicum) were indicated by participants to be the least sustainable as virtual courses post-pandemic. Results also suggest that although virtual education courses at the graduate level are sustainable in education programs post-pandemic, undergraduate courses may not be. Advantages to virtual course delivery clustered around logistics and access while challenges clustered around engagement and hands-on-learning. This study provides curriculum guidance to those across the globe in the position of making modality decisions.

This research was designed to investigate hybrid flexible in teaching English. There were 32 students participated in this research by using the purposive sampling method. This mixed-methods study looked into the hybrid flexible method implemented in teaching English, the benefits of using hybrid flexible method and the challenges of applying hybrid flexible. A structured interview, observation and a questionnaire were used to gather the data. According to the findings of the study, the majority of students are able to enhance their English vocabulary with the aid of hybrid learning that is adaptable to their needs. Students find hybrid learning to be highly beneficial since it helps them gain new language and improve their vocabulary abilities. The flexible hybrid learning method makes learning enjoyable and provides students with access to a variety of sources of information, particularly the Internet. The student must be able to use the technology needed to access the content or course, as face-to-face and online learning will be required. These strategies are quite beneficial for students since they assist them in learning a new language or expanding their vocabulary. Aside from that, the findings of this study will be of great assistance to educators who seek to use this method in the classroom to improve the academic performance of their students, particularly in the post-pandemic era.

Online learning has been one of the best available options for coping with the teaching and learning process during the pandemic era. Understanding teachers' and students' perceptions of online learning has been an important and popular research topic. The focus of the current study is ascertaining whether the teachers and students can do the online teaching and learning process optimally. The subject of the study was 15 teachers and 52 primary students of SD Muhammadiyah 03 Tumpang who have faced online learning for almost two years. This study used a survey method with an online close-ended questionnaire to capture the perceptions of students and teachers on online learning implementation. The results indicated that the teachers and students perceived online learning negatively even though they agreed it was a suitable learning system during the pandemic. The study implies that online learning may positively or negatively impact students and teachers. However, it can be an alternative to learning over a long distance, and it is also one of the ways to define the technology to the teachers and students, especially in rural schools.
