OESTROGENS IN THE LONG‐DAY PLANTS HYOSCYAMUS NIGER AND SALVIA SPLENDENS GROWN UNDER INDUCTIVE AND NON‐INDUCTIVE LIGHT CONDITIONS

Abstract: SUMMARYAn increased hiosynthesis of oestrogen-like substances occurs in plants growing under inductive photoperiods. Oestrogens appear at the time of flower hud formation and reach a maximum at the time of flower development. Three oestrogen-like substances were found in extracts from flowering plants of both Hyoscyamus niger L. and Salvia splendens Sellow.
