Odd-even harmonic generation from oriented CO and NO molecules within strong-field approximation

Abstract: Recently, the pure-even high-order harmonic generation (HHG) has theoretically found by the ab initio methods for CO molecules interacting with an intense laser. An examination of this phenomenon using the analytical approach such as the Lewenstein model, and for another polar molecular with other symmetry is needed. In this study, we theoretically investigate the odd-even harmonic generation from the CO and NO molecules in the linearly polarized laser field by using the Lewenstein model. Firstly, we confirm e… Show more

“…Besides, DCeP effects on the HHG intensity near the cutoff of the HHG from CO (Le, Hoang, Tran, & Le, 2018;Bin Zhang et al, 2014) và CO 2 (Le, Vu, Ngo, & Le, 2019). Recently, we have also indicated the influence of the DCeP on the correlation between the intensity of the even and odd harmonics in the HHG of CO and NO molecules (Le, & Phan, 2020;Phan, Le, Hoang, & Le, 2019). To interpret this phenomenon, we have calculated the gerade and ungerade components of the temporal transition dipole (Le, & Phan, 2020;Phan et al, 2019).…”

Accordingly, while the odd harmonics are caused by the recombination of electrons into the gerade part, the even harmonics -into the ungerade part of HOMO of CO molecule at the recombination time.…”

“…MOT was then developed to a more general method [19][20][21][22] and extended to more complex symmetric molecules, such as CO 2 [21,23] and C 2 H 2 [23,24]. In recent years, asymmetric molecular orbital tomography (AMOT) has drawn more attention, such as imaging of HeH 2+ [25][26][27] and CO [28][29][30][31][32][33]. Compared with symmetric molecules, the symmetry breaking of asymmetric molecules makes AMOT more difficult.…”
