Abstract

Brief report of 13 eyes with blunt trauma secondary to recoil from elastic cord exercise equipment, and review of the literature.

“…To our knowledge, this is the first reported case of a high-velocity band-associated blunt ocular injury occurring in a seemingly innocent military setting. While similar injuries during physical training have been previously documented,1–3 this case highlights the unique challenges and potential risks present in a military training environment where large groups of highly motivated individuals engage in repetitive physical training exercises. The occurrence of ocular injuries in soldiers may compromise their visual function and functional capacity, impair their ability to fulfil their duties and potentially result in long-term disability.…”

Exercise Resistance Band induced injuries during Covid 19 Pandemic Lockdown Training
