Ocio y tiempo libre desde la perspectiva de género en estudiantes universitarios de posgrado (Leisure and free time from a gender perspective in postgraduate university students)

Abstract

Introducción: Con este trabajo se pretende ampliar el estudio del campo del ocio y el tiempo libre desde la perspectiva de género para Latinoamérica, siendo este campo inherente de la naturaleza humana y acompañante a lo largo de la vida. Objetivo: Reconocer las características del ocio y el tiempo libre en profesionales que desarrollan estudios universitarios de posgrados en una universidad colombiana. Método: Estudio descriptivo transversal de tipo cuantitativo y de asociación, desarrollado en 197 estudiantes activos durante el semestre A 2021. Resultados: los hallazgos de este trabajo dejan ver una disponibilidad de tiempo para actividades de ocio y el tiempo libre, niveles de motivación y de satisfacción similares para el género masculino y femenino, con predominio de práctica de actividades en el marco del ocio emocional y sociocultural. Los estudiantes de género masculino, mantienen su interés por las actividades de ocio emocional entre las actividades que hacen y les gustaría hacer en tiempo libre, mientras que las estudiantes de género femenino difieren de las actividades de interés hacia el ocio cognitivo. Las horas disponibles y el nivel de satisfacción resultaron estadísticamente independientes (p > 0,05) en función del género. Conclusión: se hace necesario diversificar, optimizar el tiempo y la oferta de actividades que la universidad planea para los y las estudiantes de posgrado, desde el reconocimiento de los niveles de motivación, satisfacción y sensación de bienestar, durante el periodo de formación posgradual. Introduction: This work aims to expand the study of the field of leisure and free time from the perspective of gender for Latin America, as this field is inherent in human nature and accompanies throughout life. Objective: To recognize the characteristics of leisure and free time in professionals who develop postgraduate university studies in a Colombian university. Method: Cross-sectional descriptive study of a quantitative and association type, developed in 197 active students during the semester A 2021. Results: the findings of this work show an availability of leisure and free time activities and free time, levels of motivation and satisfaction similar for the male and female gender, with a predominance of practicing activities within the framework of emotional and sociocultural leisure. The male students maintain their interest in emotional leisure activities among the activities they do and would like to do in free time, while the female students differ from the activities of interest towards cognitive leisure. The hours available and the level of satisfaction were statistically independent (p > 0.05) based on gender. Conclusion: it is necessary to diversify, optimize the time and offer of activities that the university plans for postgraduate students, from the recognition of the levels of motivation, satisfaction and feeling of well-being, during the postgraduate training period.
