The reappearance of embryo-specific materials was first postulated in human neoplasms as long ago as 1929 (Hirszfeld) and was noted by Stonehill and Bendich (1970) in diverse tumours of the mouse, rat and hamster induced by physical, viral and chemical agents, as well as those occurring spontaneously.…”
