Abstract:Este artigo trata da encenação do musical O homem de La Mancha (Dale Wasserman, 1965) no teatro brasileiro nos anos 1972-1973, produzido por Paulo Pontes e dirigido por Flávio Rangel. O objetivo é compreender a leitura do Quixote como ideal de justiça e liberdade num contexto marcado pelo autoritarismo, sobretudo, em relação à figura do artista/intelectual.
