Abstract: O câncer se caracteriza por uma proliferação anormal de determinados tecidos, a qual escapa ao controle do organismo, tendendo à autonomia e geralmente causando efeitos extremamente agressivos sobre o corpo. Tem-se como objetivo descrever a relevância do enfermeiro no cuidado ao familiar do paciente oncológico. Trata-se de uma revisão bibliográfica de abordagem qualitativa.
