Abstract:O efeito weekend corresponde ao aumento da mortalidade em pacientes admitidos em hospitais no sábado ou domingo. 1,2 Estudo publicado em 2016, na Inglaterra, relata que houve repercussão desses achados na mídia em 2015, o que, inclusive, fez com que novos contratos fossem impostos a médicos residentes, garantindo maior volume de serviços nos fins de semana.
