Purpose: This study is conducted to examine the professional values of nurses and their personal and professional characteristics affecting these values. Design and Methods: A total of 369 nurses completed a questionnaire on personal information and nursing professional values scale (NPVS-R). Findings: The total scores of the nurses on the NPVS-R were found to be 100.87 ± 21.07, and the item mean scores were found to be 3.87 ± 0.81. When the scores for individual scale factors were examined, the highest scores were observed for the "caring" (4.02 ± 0.87) and "activism" (3.90 ± 0.89) factors. Practice Implications: The fact that nurses are aware of their individual values and how these values affect their behavior can be a guide in human-focused value nursing planning.

Aim: This study aimed to determine the relationship between the perception of nursing care quality and the satisfaction level of patients hospitalized in surgical services. Method: The sample of this descriptive, correlational study comprised 224 patients who were hospitalized and had undergone surgical intervention. A patient information form, the Caring Behaviour Inventory-24 and the Newcastle Satisfaction Scale from Nursing Care Scale were used to collect the data. The data were evaluated by number, percentage, mean, standard deviation, Mann-Whitney U Test, Kruskal-Wallis Test, and correlation analysis. Results: Of the patients, the mean age was 55.28±18.05 years, the length of hospitalization was 8.10±13.35 days, 62.5% were male, and 43.3% were primary school graduates. The care behaviors score of patients was found to be 4.87 (3.95-5.37), and the nursing care satisfaction score was 71.5 (57.00-82.75). A significant positive correlation was found between the total score of the patients' care scale and the total score of nursing care satisfaction (p <0.05). There was a significant negative correlation between age and educational status of patients and the total score of satisfaction, commitment, care behaviors and satisfaction total score (p <0.05). Female patients' knowledge-skills sub-dimension score was high, and there was a statistically significant difference between gender and the knowledge-skill sub-dimension (p <0.05). ÖZ Amaç: Araştırmanın amacı, cerrahi servislerinde yatan hastaların hemşirelik bakım kalitesi algılamaları ile memnuniyet durumları arasındaki ilişkiyi belirlemektir. Yöntem: Tanımlayıcı-ilişki arayıcı tipte yapılan araştırmanın örneklemini bir üniversite hastanesinde yatan ve cerrahi girişim uygulanan 224 hasta oluşturdu. Araştırmada verileri toplamak amacıyla "Hasta Tanıtım Formu", "Bakım Davranışları Ölçeği-24 (BDÖ-24)" ve "Newcastle Hemşirelik Bakımı Memnuniyet Ölçeği" (NHBMÖ) kullanıldı. Veriler sayı, yüzde, ortalama, standart sapma, Mann Whitney U Testi, Kruskal Wallis Testi ve korelasyon analizi ile değerlendirildi.

The aim of this study was to develop "Perceived Value Scale in regard to Teaching Profession of Prospective Teachers ". The validity and reliability analysis of the scale, developed for prospective elementary school teachers, was performed. In order to determine the values of the teaching profession, first of all, the related literature was scanned and an essay about the values related to the profession was written by the elementary school teachers and prospective teachers. In this way, 75 values in regard to teaching profession were determined. The obtained values were asked to be ranked according to their significance by primary school teachers and prospective teachers and a likert scale consisting of 64 items was prepared for 10 values that are most significant. After receiving expert opinions on scale items, 491 prospective teachers were applied and analysis was performed with findings .According to the analysis results, the Kaiser-Meyer Olkin (KMO) sample suitability was found as 0.847. In order to determine the reliability of the scale, Cronbach Alpha internal consistency indexes were calculated. The internal consistency index (Cronbach Alpha) of the scale was found as 0.899. Varimax vertical rotation method was used to determine independent sub factors of the scale. The lower cutoff point of the factor loads is taken as 0.45. It was found that the scale consisting of 8 factors and 40 items, explained 58,674% of the total variance. Findings suggest that the "Perceived Value Scale in regard to Teaching Profession of Prospective Teachers" is a valid and reliable measurement tool that can be used to determine the perceived value of the teaching profession of primary school prospective teachers.
