Abstract: Nurse-led care of patients with AF is superior to usual care provided by a cardiologist in terms of cardiovascular hospitalizations and cardiovascular mortality. Trial registration information: Clinicaltrials.gov identifier number: NCT00391872.

“…Za ich stosowaniem przemawiają pewne dowody naukowe, ale potrzebna jest większa liczba badań dotyczących najlepszego sposobu sprawowania zintegrowanej opieki nad pacjentami z AF. Zintegrowane leczenie AF prowadzone w ramach RCT zwiększyło wykorzystanie metod opartych na dowodach z badań naukowych oraz spowodowało -w trakcie obserwacji trwającej średnio 22 miesiące -zmniejszenie o ok. 1/3 częstości występowania złożonego punktu końcowego obejmującego hospitalizacje i zgony z przyczyn sercowo-naczyniowych (14,3% vs. 20,8%; HR 0,65; 95% CI 0,45-0,93; p = 0,017) w porównaniu ze zwykłym leczeniem w dużym ośrodku o III stopniu referencyjności [330].
