Numerical and Experimental Analyses of Biocomposites Reinforced with Natural Fibres

Abstract: In the last decades the biocomposites have been widely used in the construction, automobile and aerospace industries. Not only the interface transition zone (ITZ) but also the heterogeneity of natural fibres affects the mechanical behaviour of these composites. This work focuses on the numerical and experimental analyses of a polymeric co mposite fabricated with epo xy resin and unidirectional sisal and banana fibres. A three -d imensional model was set to analyze the composites using the elastic properties of… Show more

“…The calculation of the result of the analysis is done on the mesh nodes. It was found from the outcomes of the literatures that the mechanical behavior of natural fibre can be analyzed using FEA model when the fibres in actual composite are arranged symmetrically and regularly, because the results acquired from the experimental tests were close to the FEA model (José da Silva., 2012). performed Finite Element Analysis on hybrid polymer matrix reinforced with jute-banana.…”

“…The state equations and the evolution laws of the interface provided in the context of thermodynamics are described in [16][17][18][19][20][21][22]. Models of elastic and damageable interface are presented in [23][24][25][26][27] and generalized in [28]. In these models, special interface elements are applied in areas where the delamination phenomenon is likely to occur.…”

“…Existing specialized difficulties in this subject are summed up to give possible options for future research. Jose da Silva et al [46] worked on numerical and experimental analysis of natural-fiber composites. This work primarily emphasized sisal and banana natural-fiber-reinforced epoxy-resin polymer composites.…”
