Abstract

The level properties of 124 Xe have been studied through the 123 Te(α, 3n) reaction using in-beam γ -ray spectroscopic techniques. A comparative analysis of the theoretical studies of the band structure of 124 Xe and similar transitional nuclei within the frameworks of the cranked shell model and cranked Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov formalism has been performed to extract information about the non-axial deformation parameter (γ ).
