Nuclear magnetic resonance coupled microseparations

Abstract: The increased separation efficiency afforded by reducing the size of the separation column has resulted in 'microseparations' becoming an important component in many chemical and biochemical applications. The coupling of microseparations with NMR detection is an area of increasing interest owing to the high structural information of NMR. In order to couple efficiently with the separation, the NMR detector must be reduced in size to correspond to that of the separation peak. This paper summarizes some of the ap… Show more

“…The state of ITP in many fields was reviewed by many authors [97 -118] [190,191] Natural neurotoxins [192,193] Aromatic and aliphatic sulfonates [194,195] Pharmaceuticals [85, 86, 196 -205] Coupling of ITP with NMR [190,192,196,[232][233][234][235][236][237] [260] Gebauer and Bocek [119] was published in 2002. From this date, over a hundred novel applications and methods were published; a short survey of these works is given in Table 2.…”

“…This was due to the lack of the lockchannel in the NMR probe, and to the analyte diffusion in the observed volume over a longer time period as reported et al 41 by Webb. After the samples were positioned and equilibrated in the NMR observe volume, the linewidth of the water peak was ~1.8 Hz.…”

“…For that reason the reader is referred to the general recent reviews dealing with developments and applications of the former detectors, electrochemical [161,186,187], conductivity [188,189], and NMR [190,191], where few particular examples of application of these detectors for peptide CE analyses are mentioned. One of them is, e.g., the electrochemical detection of Met-enkephalin, Leu-enkephalin, and [D-Ala-2]-Leu-enkephalin separated by NACE in 10 mM ammonium acetate in ACN/ methanol BGE [105].…”
