Novel Selective Sensors Based on TiO2 Nanotubes Supported MS(TiO2@MS, M=Cd, Zn) for Their Gas Sensing Properties

Abstract: The novel sensors based on TiO 2 nanotubes-supported MS (TiO 2 @MS, M = Cd, Zn) are synthesized via a simple wet chemical method at room temperature. The products are characterized with transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and photoluminescence spectrum (PL). Their optical and morphological properties indicate the interaction between the TiO 2 nanotube and MS nanoparticle. The gas-sensing properties of the obtained samples are studied. Sensors based on the TiO 2 @MS core/shell heter… Show more

“…Owing to the vast utility of TiO 2 NPs in food, industries, health care, and other consumer products, these NPs can after use get into the sewage system, subsequently entering into the environment biosolids applied to agricultural land, effluent discharged to surface waters, landfill solids, or incinerated wastes [10,97]. Nano-sized TiO 2 has over time demonstrated both positive and negative impacts on the environment.…”

“…Manufactured nanoparticles (NPs) of titanium dioxide (TiO 2 ) have been widely used in many fields in the recent years [1][2][3][4][5]. During the production and application, nanoparticles will be contacted with organism inevitably.…”

“…The interface controls the degree of interaction between the filler and the polymer and thus controls the properties. As in conventional composites, the interfacial region is the region beginning at the point in the fibre at which the properties differ from those of the bulk filler and ending at the point in the matrix at which the properties become equal to those of the bulk matrix [5][6][7][8]. Nanometer-sized fillers have been made from different organic and inorganic particles, and they impart improved properties to composite materials [9].…”
