“…In the last few decades, there have been numerous papers documenting the extraction of active chemicals from cork/grape identifying their health-benefiting properties. However, the majority of the extractives are composed of phenolic monomers, with known limitations such as low stability and affinity with other substrates, restricting their applicability in the industrial field . Furthermore, investigations of the polymerization of isolated natural chemicals are relatively rare.…”

This study proposes a green technique for producing value-added polymers from cork/grape extractives.…”

“…Phenol, 2-methoxy-(CAS) guaiacol was used as an antiseptic and expectorant. It has an induction effect on cell proliferation due to its ability to scavenge reactive oxygen species (ROS) [23]. The last two compounds were 2-propanol, 1,1'-oxybis-(CAS) dipropylene glycol with a % area of 6.71 %, and acetic acid (CAS) ethylic acid with a % area of 6.2 %.…”

“…[21,22] Organic dyes with extended π-conjugation, like phthalocyanine and SQs, are well known for their aggregate formation, and derivatives of bulky chenodeoxycholic acid have been used to suppress such aggregates resulting in improved electron injection leading to enhanced photoconversion efficiency. [23,24] In contrast, SQ dye bears an electron-rich amine group substituted in the indole ring and an electron-deficient central squaric acid core offering the possibility of efficient intramolecular PET leading to the enhanced fluorescence quenching, which is schematically shown in Figure 3. Utilizing cyanine dye fluorophores, it has been demonstrated that in the presence of electron donor with free electron like -OH or -NH 2 group in combination with electron-deficient moiety, there was very strong fluorescence quenching due to PET.…”
