Novel materials as capillary coatings for in‐tube solid‐phase microextraction for bioanalysis

Abstract: In-tube solid-phase microextraction with a capillary column as extraction device can be directly coupled with high-performance liquid chromatography systems (HPLC). The in-tube solid-phase microextraction technique has been continuously developed since it was introduced in 1997. New couplings have also been evaluated on the basis of state-of-the-art HPLC instruments. Different types of capillaries (wall-coated open tubular, porous layer open tubular, sorbent-packed, porous monolithic rods, or fiber-packed) wit… Show more

“…These techniques comply with the demand for the development of more ecological and sustainable analytical methods [17]. Typical examples of these techniques include SPME [18], liquid-phase microextraction [19], magnetic SPE [20], pipette-tip SPE (PT-SPE) [21], electromembrane extraction [22], microextraction by packed sorbents [23], stir bar sorptive extraction [24], and fabric phase extraction [7].…”

“…In recent years, different sample pretreatment methods were developed for extracting pesticides, such as dispersion liquid−liquid microextraction [7], SPE [8,9], SPME [10], dispersive SPE [11], dispersive micro-solid-phase extraction [12], magnetic solid-phase extraction (MSPE) [13]. Comparatively, as a new type of sample pretreatment technology, MSPE has received extensive attentions and applications due to large contact area of adsorbent for the analytes, rapid separation steps, and satisfactory reproducibility [14].…”
