“…Our results are consistent with four more recently published randomized controlled trials involving thrice weekly PRE with adults living with HIV. Authors reported similar improvements with PRE (or combined PRE and aerobic exercise) for outcomes of cardiorespiratory health, body composition, strength, quality of life, and CD4 count consistent with the results of this review [6770]. …”

“…Zanetti et al (2016) reported the nonlinear resistance training group had reduced the levels of TC, LDL-c, and TG, and the HDL-c level increased (18); But their study period was 12 weeks in people living with HIV. Ribeiro et al (2016) after 8 weeks resistance training (traditional and pyramidal systems), a significant improvements were observed for TG, HDL-C, and LDL-C of older women in both systems (19) but the present research was conducted in 7 training sessions in young female student.…”

“…Furthermore, exercise intervention was applied to fifteen HIV-infected individuals between 35 and 51 years-of-age, and improvements in hand strength, scapular force, and several quality-of-life domains, including environment, perception of quality-of-life and global health [47,48]. Thirty HIV patients, undergoing highly active antiretroviral therapy, were either assigned to a nonlinear resistance exercise group or to a group with the exercise intervention interval covering 12 weeks [49]. After the 12-week intervention, the exercise group had augmented levels of lean body mass, with a reduction in body fat mass and body fat percentage whereas the levels of total cholesterol, low density lipoprotein cholesterol, triglyceride, and c-reactive protein were reduced, with the high density lipoprotein cholesterol level increased.…”
