“…An online questionnaire was designed using the Qualtrics XM software for a deliberate nonprobability sampling [ 9 ] of the population of HCWs. This method was selected because the COVID-19 crisis requires social distancing, preventing face-to-face interviews.…”

“…It is a quasi-experimental design, not a true randomised controlled trial due to the consideration of subjects’ contamination in the IDP camps. Due to the non-random subjects’ allocation to the groups, it was challenging to know how well the IDPs population were represented, limiting generalisability of this study to other populations with traumatic experiences outside Nigeria [ 87 ]. Second, the lack of balance in the baseline characteristics of the subjects could indicate that unobserved confounders might have affected the level of confidence in the effect of the dance intervention, although the models were adjusted for known unbalanced co-variates observed at baseline.…”

“…We took a number of steps to minimize sampling bias: (1) we used 3 different media channels, thus increasing the chances for randomization in this sample [116]; (2) we monitored the data once a week to insure sufficient professional and ethnic representation among the participants. For example, when we discovered that there was an insufficient number of HCWs, we posted on more medical forums.…”

“…Our sample was designed using Qualtrics XM online survey software as it provided rapid and efficient distribution of an interactive online questionnaire (see Multimedia Appendix 1) to our research population (HCWs and the general public in Israel). We used the self-selection in Web survey method of nonprobability sampling [116] to recruit participants through posts on social networks asking the general public (over the age of 18 years) to answer the survey.…”
