Nobelpreiswürdig: Aufklärung der Ribosomenstruktur und Einblicke in den Mechanismus der Translation

Abstract: Das Ribosom hat raffinierte Mechanismen entwickelt, um eine präzise Übersetzung der genetischen Information in ein funktionsfähiges Protein zu gewährleisten. Der Chemie‐Nobelpreis 2009 geht an drei Forscher, die uns mithilfe der Röntgenkristallstrukturanalyse wertvolle Einblicke in die Struktur des Ribosoms geliefert haben und so unser Verständnis des Translationsprozesses auf molekularer Ebene entscheidend verbessert haben.
