Wprowadzenie i cel pracy. Wykazano już, że prawidłowy skład mikrobioty jelitowej umożliwia lepsze wykorzystanie energii i składników mineralnych zawartych w diecie; rozkład substancji toksycznych, kancerogennych i mutagennych pojawiających się w jelitach oraz fagocytozę komórek patogenów; decyduje o utrzymaniu ciągłości nabłonka i chroni przed zaburzeniami w funkcjonowaniu bariery jelitowej ze wszystkimi ich następstwami oraz przed spadkiem odporności. Celem badań była ocena potencjalnego wpływu wybranych czynników, w tym żywienia, na prawidłowe funkcjonowanie mikrobioty jelitowej u młodych kobiet. Materiał i metody. W badaniu udział wzięło 119 kobiet w wieku od 20 do 24 lat. Badanie przeprowadzono metodą ankietową, przy użyciu autorskiej ankiety, która zawierała 29 pytań zamkniętych dotyczących występowania w ich życiu czynników negatywnie wpływających na stan mikrobioty jelitowej. Do ankiet dołączony był jadłospis z trzech losowo wybranych dni. Wyniki. Stwierdzono, że o ile liczba i rozkład posiłków oraz godziny ich spożywania u większości badanych były prawidłowe, o tyle ilościowa i jakościowa ocena jadłospisów wykazała szereg nieprawidłowości. Do tych, które mogły mieć negatywny wpływ na stan mikrobioty, należały: nadmiar białka zwierzęcego, niedobór błonnika, niskie spożycie produktów fermentowanych oraz stosowanie diet redukcyjnych. Z innych czynników negatywny wpływ na stan mikrobioty mógł mieć stres i przyjście na świat przez cesarskie cięcie. Wnioski. Łączne występowanie wyżej wymienionych czynników (ale nie tylko) może skutkować dysbiozą jelitową, stwarzając realne ryzyko pojawiania się określonych schorzeń w późniejszym okresie życia.
