Next-to-leading orderW+5-jet production at the LHC

Abstract: We present next-to-leading order QCD predictions for the total cross section and for a comprehensive set of transverse-momentum distributions in W + 5-jet production at the Large Hadron Collider. We neglect the small contributions from subleading-color virtual terms, top quarks and some terms containing four quark pairs. We also present ratios of total cross sections, and use them to obtain an extrapolation formula to an even larger number of jets. We include the decay of the W boson into leptons. This is the … Show more

“…NLO results for V V with up to an extra jet have been made available in POWHEG [258,259]. NLO corrections to γγ plus up to three jets are also known [260][261][262][263][264] Table 3. Sample of LO and NLO rates for triple-vector-boson production, possibly within cuts and in association with one jet, at the 13-TeV LHC; we also report the integration errors, and the fractional scale (left) and PDF (right) uncertainties.…”

“…the SM and beyond, has shown an extraordinary progress in the recent years. Today, 2 → 4 processes at next-to-leading order (NLO) are state of the art [1][2][3][4][5], and even higher multiplicities are affordable [6]. Several tools for the automated calculation of NLO differential cross sections are available [7,8], including the merging with parton showers [9].…”

“…The q T spectrun of the diphoton pair has been calculated in fully-differential Monte Carlo codes at LO [13][14][15][16] and at NLO [23][24][25]. Recently, first calculations for diphoton production in association with two [26][27][28] and three [28] jets at NLO became available.…”
