New Water-soluble Metal Working Fluids Additives from Phosphonic Acid Derivatives for Aluminum Alloy Materials

Abstract: Water-soluble metal working fluids are used for processing of aluminum alloy materials. This short paper describes properties of new additives for water-soluble cutting fluids for aluminum alloy materials. Some alkyldiphosphonic acids were prepared with known method. Amine salts of these phosphonic acids showed anti-corrosion property for aluminum alloy materials. However, they have no hard water tolerance. Monoesters of octylphosphonic acid were prepared by the reaction of octylphosphonic acid dichloride with… Show more

“…Aside from the multiple industrial applications of aluminum, it has applications in different fields including a few uses related to human consumption such as a flocculant in drinking water purification processes, as an adjuvant in vaccine preparation, and as an additive in beverages, foods (e.g., sweets and cheeses), antiperspirants and deodorants, among others [1][2][3][4][5][6][7]. However, the soluble forms of aluminum are considered potentially toxic because of their high water solubility and genotoxic capacity and because of our exposure to these soluble forms at subacute and chronic levels on a daily basis [6,8,9].…”

“…It is a colourless and transparent liquid at ambient temperatures and has versatile synthetic utility in pharmaceutical, biomedical and electronic sectors. It finds special use in the synthesis of compounds having applications in the preparation of medicines where methylene chain is used as a spacer [1], polymer light emitting diodes (PLED) where it provides alkyl backbone to the fluorine containing polymers [2], corrosion inhibitors with good hard water tolerance [3], surfactants where it is used to reflux certain reaction mixtures [4], emulsifiers and film sensors for detection of carbon dioxide. With the growing *Corresponding Author technology vibrational spectroscopy is emerging as a powerful probe for biomedically relevant properties of tissues and plays a vital role in pharmaceutical industry with regard to the characterization of a drug substance [5][6][7].…”
