New Ultrasonic Tip Decreases Uninstrumented Surface and Debris in Flattened Canals: A Micro–computed Tomographic Study

“…The root canal obturation in flattened root canals is a challenge, due to the buccal‐lingual diameter 4 or more times larger than the mesio‐distal diameter (Jou et al, 2004). Since accumulation of debris and uninstrumented surfaces affect the filling capacity of the root canal sealers (Metzger et al, 2010), supplementary ultrasonic protocols (Rivera‐Peña et al, 2019; Santos‐Junior et al, 2020) and instruments with small diameter were used to improve the root canal cleaning (Espir et al, 2018).
