In the existing sensorless vector control system of permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM), direct differential calculation or phase-locked loop (PLL) control is often used to estimate the rotor speed, but this method has some problems of weak load capacity and slow dynamic response. A new sensorless vector control method based on an improved sliding mode observer (SMO) and improved fullorder observer (FOO) is proposed in this paper. The cut-off frequency of the low-pass filter is designed as a function of speed, the back EMF is fed back into the stator current estimation mathematical model, and the adaptive rate of feedback gains coefficient is proposed for improving the traditional SMO. The disturbance feedback matrix is introduced for improving the traditional FOO, and the estimated load torque is feedforward compensated to the given end of the quadrature current. An integrated system of corresponding algorithms is established, a test platform is built. The experimental results show that the speed and load torque estimation performance of the improved observer is better than that of the traditional observer in the process of sudden load change. The sensorless vector control system based on the proposed observer has a high dynamic response, load capacity, and reliability.INDEX TERMS Sensorless vector control system, improved sliding mode observer (SMO), improved fullorder observer (FOO), load capacity, reliability.

The main purpose of this paper is to develop a high-level performance, and low-cost current sensorless control strategy for Induction Motor (IM) drives. Therefore, a new phase-current regeneration method, for current sensorless vector control in induction motor drives is introduced. The idea is based on the reconfiguration of the Luenberger adaptive observer for currents estimation, using the information provided by the dc-link voltage sensor. The basis of the proposed control and the theoretical study of the modified adaptive observer are presented. Several simulation and experimental tests were performed on an induction motor of 1.1 kW working under different operating conditions. The obtained results prove and testify the relevance, workability, and practicability of the suggested currents sensorless vector control strategy.

In recent years, electric propulsion systems have become widely, used and these systems have strict limits in volume and weight. Therefore, it is necessary to reduce the weight of the inverter-motor drive system. In a typical inverter-motor drive system, at least phase current sensors are required. In order to reduce the number of phase current sensors, this paper proposes a method for measuring phase current using DC link current sensors in a inverter-motor drive system. Two phase currents per inverter-motor system are measured during one period of the switching frequency using the pulse width modulation (PWM) shift method. However, since the measured phase current contains an error component in the average current, the error component was compensated for in order to obtain a current similar to the actual phase current by using the slope and dwell time of the phase current. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified through experiments.
