“…Suctorian ciliates are common commensals on the representatives of marine meiofauna including nematodes, halacarids, harpacticoid copepods, kinorhynchs etc. from different regions around the world (Precht, 1935;Tato-Porto, 2000a, 2000b;Dovgal et al, 2008aDovgal et al, , 2008bDovgal et al, , 2009aDovgal et al, , 2009bIngole et al, 2010;Chatterjee et al, , 2013Chatterjee et al, a, 2013bChatterjee et al, , 2013Chatterjee et al, c, 2014aChatterjee et al, , 2014bChatterjee et al, , 2018. Recently, individuals of the suctorian ciliate Praethecacineta halacari were observed on Copidognathus venustus Bartsch, 1977 and two different Rhombognathus sp.…”

“…The loricae, 72-85 µm in length, 45-47 µm in diameter, are annulated with 22-24 horizontal ribs, the stalk is almost as long as the lorica, the slightly ovate macronucleus about 12 µm in length, and the more than 20 tentacles are arranged in a single bundle. Most likely it is a Thecacineta calix (Schröder, 1907) which is a cosmopolitan species found on a variety of taxa (Chatterjee et al 2014).…”

“…Many species are recognised as neocosmopolitan (i.e., human-mediated cosmopolitan species; see [16]) as well as widespread in invaded regions [17][18][19][20]. Some amphipods are also known to bear different epibionts that, in some cases, would benefit from their basibiont movement without harming the host [21][22][23][24]. Accordingly, amphipods might be effective vectors for some organisms that are directly associated with them.…”
